The Pleasure Sensor - Happiness

Sometimes I feel overwhelmed with happiness. It's truly a joy to feel such a warm fuzzy feeling wash over you. The feeling simply washes over you, drenching you with joy and wonder that life can be so great.

The moments that I find most spectacular are those when family members reach out and need me. As you get older it's actually a defining moment when your children reach out to you. They've begun to grow up and are mature enough to know and understand about the workings of life, so when they reach out to you becomes less frequent. They don't need you as much, but they still want you in their lives. That's the benefit of having children who are independent and capable, yet willing to reach out.

Relationships to me are the most important aspect of having children. I believe that children need to understand that they are wanted, loved, and cared about as they grow up. They should understand that there is a place for them in your life, in your home. These comprehensions should be openly discussed as the children are growing up. The reason is, if they can't come home, where can they go?

Even as an adult it's important to have somewhere to turn when life hands you lemons. I've found as I get older it's less frequently my parent's home and more often friends. I still need my parents, they're still important in my life, but as I get older so do they, and their ability to meet my needs dwindles. I need to find friends who are capable of giving back to me so that I can give back to my parents. I find the role reversal to be an appropriate part of life changing and making room for the process.

The interactive function of family makes life worth living.

Similar to the clouds of sunset intermingling and adjusting to the plight of wind currents, rain storms, and the air around us, the light dresses the air in colors of wonder and delight. Life gives similar wonder to relationships as they develop and grow.
